We made a promise
to the people we surveyed that we would carry their message back to the
decision-makers.
CUP recommends Consolidated Plan funds to be allocated as follows, in accordance
with the peoples' wishes:
- Job
training and development
- Reduction
in gang activities:
job recruitment, services for at-risk youth, and crime abatement
- Repair
and remodel of old buildings/ neighborhoods:
funds to restore old and dilapidated buildings and repair older
neighborhoods
- Affordable
housing:
construction and restoration
- Street
improvements:
infrastructure repair and streetscape upgrades
CUP is continuing
to ask the residents of the city about their needs and will report its
findings to City officials on a regular basis.
Copies of this report have been distributed to the Mayor's office, the
City Council, the Los Angeles Community Development Department (CDD),
Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), Housing Department, Homeless Services
Authority, and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development Agency
(HUD). Complete information on this survey is available for review by
the general public and the media.
